Student Visa (subclass 500)

The Student Visa Subclass 500 allows you to study full-time in Australia from a recognised Australian educational institution. To start with, you must first enrol in a CRICOS-registered course, or in a primary or high school program.

Eligibility Criteria

If you’re aspiring for the Student Visa Subclass 500, you will have to follow a certain set of conditions.

1. Before you apply for this visa, you must have been accepted to study full-time at a legitimate educational institution in Australia.
2. You must be at least six years of age. If you’re below 18 years of age, you should have organised appropriate welfare arrangements for the duration of your intended stay in Australia.
3. You must have a valid health insurance for the period you’re going to be in Australia.

GTE Requirement:
The GTE requirement is one of the main prerequisites that applies to all student visa applicants. The officer assessing your visa details will consider your individual circumstances to determine your ***intention or possibility of temporary stay in Australia. You must satisfy the officer that you have a genuine intention to stay in Australia temporarily.

English Language Requirements

An evidence of your English language tests is also required. With your visa application. If you need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency, there is a minimum English language test score that the immigration department accepts.

Length of stay

You can get a valid visa that allows you to stay in Australia for up to five years.

Financial Requirement

As an International Student, you need to provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to undertake professional studies in Australia. This could be either of the following:

● Evidence of funds to cover your studies for the first 12 months of your stay in Australia
● Evidence of taxable income of your parents or spouse in the last 12 months

Student Dependent Visa (Subclass 500)

The Student Dependent Visa (Subclass 500) is for dependents of a particular student who is relocating to Australia under the Student Visa 500.
The list of dependants includes:

● Your partner
● You and your partner’s dependent children – Your dependent child can be your own child or stepchild. Your child should not be:

1. Married or engaged to be married or in a de facto relationship
2. 18 years of age or above
● A de facto partner – However, a de facto relationship applies if you have been living with a person for at least 12 months, and you have a genuine and special relationship with them.

Eligibility Criteria

● Your Spouse/sponsor should be holding a valid Australia student visa subclass 500.
● It permits a student to study in a registered, full-time course.
● The Eligibility norms are that the applicant must be six years old and must have been accepted for pursuing studies at an educational institution in Australia.

Applying for Dependant Family Members

● By applying for them to join you after you have started your course in Australia
